What is FAFO?

FAFO (Florida Anglers Fishing Optimizer) is the first Florida-only, AI-enabled fishing app. FAFO combines a vast array of features into one user friendly app accessible on your phone or web browser. Leveraging deep learning, an expansive knowledge database, and GIS...FAFO helps you be more successful out on the water. Designed by Florida Anglers, for Florida Anglers.

FAFO isn't a one-and-done app. We have a 2 year development plan with upgraded features to be added regularly.

Who We Are

We are a small team of developers, fisher-people, and passionate conservationists who all grew up on the water, or in the woods. In addition to our love of nature, we have degrees, proven experience, and passion in areas such as ecology, business, data science, and computer science.

We're a team of individuals dedicated to making your fishing experience as productive as possible. Meet our team below.

Florida First

We developed FAFO for Florida Anglers...like us. We believe Florida is the greatest state in the nation to fish in, and we really don't fish anywhere else. IF we expand to other regions in the future, it will NOT be at the expense of our Florida users. This is a community of Florida anglers, built by Florida anglers. That will never change on our watch.

As an organization, we let Community Conservation, and Commitment guide our vision. We believe that a strong angling community builds a strong foundation for the future. We also believe that conservation is key to generations of anglers to come. We remain committed to these goals, and to you, the users. That is why we will always be transparent with our users about feature updates and remain committed to continually developing FAFO for as long as our servers are up.

Our Team

Tom

CEO, CSO

Tom was born in the mountains of Colorado and spent many years as a fishing guide across the country. He holds degrees in ecology and data science. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Science Officer of EcoVision Analytics, the developer of FAFO. He has lived in Florida for many years although on-and-off due to being torn between elk and snook. His free time is spent chasing snook around from a flats skiff or a stand-up paddleboard.

Clara

Chief Design Officer

Without Clara, everything in FAFO would be camo and black. Clara is our UI/UX hero and designs everything that doesn't suck at FAFO. If it looks terrible, it was Tom...if it looks good, Clara did it. She's currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on UI/UX. She does everything from design features and content, to posters and fliers. She is a professional dance coach in her spare time, works for the Montana State Bobcats marketing team, and is avidly working on her fly cast. She's busy, but contributes far more than her stake in the FAFO product.

Vaughn

Principal Fisheries Biology Consultant

Vaughn is a fisheries biologist currently working for one of the prestigious western states fisheries programs. He is a talented angler with a passion for conservation, genetics, and ecology. We consult with Vaughn on a variety of fish biology related topics, especially during the modeling process of HotSpotter. His help and input to FAFO and its coming features has been invaluable. He comes down to visit quite regularly, and we love having him when Idaho and Montana get cold.

Gordie

Chief Morale Officer

Gordie was born in Oklahoma, raised in Colorado, and is currently living in Florida. Gordie has brought birds to hand in eight US states, but has since retired. He spends his free time keeping our development team sane, and enjoys eating Greenies. His help is instrumental. He's by far the most valued member of our team.
